On 31 December 2019, the Municipal Health Commission of Wuhan (China) reported to the World Health Organization a cluster of pneumonia cases of unknown aetiology in Wuhan City, Hubei province. On 9 January 2020, the China CDC reported that a novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) had been detected as the causative agent of the respiratory disease later named Covid-19. China immediately made the genome sequence publicly available. This allowed rapid development of a diagnostic test. As of Mar 17 2021, India has 11438734 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of these cases, 159044 people have succumbed to the infection while 11045284 have recovered. Globally, there are 12,06,85,892 confirmed COVID-19 cases across 192 counties, which has led to 26,70,244 deaths, reports the World Health Organization (WHO). WHO declared the virus a global pandemic on March 11, expressing their concern on the alarming levels of spread and severity of the outbreak. The coronavirus family circulates in animals and some can be transmitted between animals and humans. Several coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans, according to WHO.

The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air and quickly fall on floors or surfaces.
You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose, or mouth. More info about Coronavirus

How do I stop getting calls about my car's extended warranty?

The car warranty scam has been going around for years, but it has really revved up lately.

It goes like this: You get a call saying your car warranty services are essential nowadays.

First, do not provide any personal information, such as a social security number, credit card information, driver’s license number or bank account information to any caller unless you can verify you are dealing directly with a legitimate company with which you have an established business relationship. Telephone scammers are good at what they do and may imply that they work for a company you trust. Don't fall for it. Be extremely cautious.

You can file a complaint with the FCC about suspected scam calls. In addition to being fraudulent in nature, these calls likely violate telemarketing and robocall rules.

While the FCC does not award individual damages to consumers, your complaint may help us identify scammers and take appropriate action. In some cases, the FCC can issue warning citations and impose fines against companies who are violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
