Countries that treat teachers as the professionals they need to be have much better educational results. Unfortunately you can't have a profession without autonomy and recognition, and that recognition includes a professional salary (imagine recognizing an MD by posting his or her name on a burger joint marquee as "Doctor of the Year").  We want professional results on the cheap http://domyhomeworkonline.net/do-my-accounting-homework.php.. Where is the superintendent who can 'lead' a blue-collar work force to achieve professional results? Scapegoat the teacher unions and fill classrooms with those who can't succeed at any other college major. Then, when your municipality goes bankrupt cancel their retirement contracts.
